i don't think GABA passes the bbb, too polar.
phenibut does though

The product contains magnesium as well as some other items. Whether that is true concerning the BBB or not, the effect is well above placebo. I have never been one to kid myself about what I feel. The sublingual tablets give me a lift within a few minutes and I am not the only one who has experienced this. Also, having a very strict diet and only changing one thing the day of the most intense Aya journey I have ever(and my fiance and her brother, both of which are experienced travelers) had on half my typical dosage with all else remaining the same leads me to believe that unless it was the full moon, it was indeed something in these pills.Very happy

I not only could not work my scale for an additional dose(that I realized I did NOT need

I suggest that you try it for yourself and see if it works the same for you. It is an inexpensive product and worth it for the mood enhancing properties even if one does not find it boosts a spice experience.

I will be looking up phenibut immediately, though. Thanks for the heads up.Smile

Also, just to reiterate, this is the SUBLINGUAL product. I have taken standard pill form before and felt nothing. I cannot say if it will enhance a journey or not.

Good luck,

E

What's the theory behind this gaba? Why is it supposed to do anything related to dmt?

I've been taking gaba every so often if I want to sleep better. I took it after a dmt trip once and it did not help me sleep better.

I've never tried it, but i can very well imagine that it helps you to relax and that it would as a consequence enable you to reach deep meditative states faster. Theanine, a GABA agonist, is said to promote alpha-brainwaves associated with meditative states.
Many people have deeper experiences if they meditate while on spice or other psychedelic's. GABA could maybe help you to lower the brainwave frequency and thus to reach deeper states.

Just thought I'd put the link here: http://www.sourcenaturals.com/products/GP1122/

I think I used to take this stuff, several years ago when I was in a more psychologically frazzled part of my life. I remember it being quite effective, especially when I took it with marijuana.

I think I'll go get some today. For the most part, I've moved away from taking the isolated compounds and amino acid pre-cursor type supplements, but it's inexpensive and my interest is peaked....and I have some uses for it. I think it would be helpful for a couple friends.

Don't know when, or if, I might try it with changa though.

I have known about GABA for many years but only became intersted when a close friend was having trouble reducing their dosage of klonapin. GABA is supposed to help with some of the symptoms and after taking one(sublingually) I was so surprised at the effects I bought some for myself.

It is supposed to help suppress certain signals in the brain and keep circuits from looping or over firing, etc. This seems counterintuitive to aiding spice trips, but I have simply never been that far that fast on half a normal dose.

I was in the middle of preparing the second dose(thought I had plenty of time, it wasnt even fifteen minutes when it came on) for the three of us when I realized that not only could I 'not work the scale' I 'no longer knew what it was'. What followed was simply the most powerful Aya experience to date.

80mg spice after 2 datura seeds and caapi tincture(strong stuff, btw). I typically start with 100mg and add another 50mg half an hour later. I never made it to the second dose(clearly).

Epic journey with my fiance, my love, my life. A personal tale but rest assured the most powerful yet. I always add datura and I always use either caapi copy, caapi tincture or a combination as my harmala base.

I want to hear if others have the same success and to reiterate:

this is the SUBLINGUAL GABA.

I cannot say if regular GABA is effective and honestly, having just the one experience, cannot say it was indeed the GABA, although cursory and subjective investigation does point toward it being the multiplier in at least this case.

It is available, inexpensive and might be a new step in the right direction. If you have success with it, please let everyone know. If you do NOT have success with it, please let everyone know.

thanks all,

Espridion
