I love Ratsch so much..him and ott are 2 of my favorites for sure. Thought I share this talk with him that I really love... ..wait till 2012 comes up, and he laughs so hard! I love it.

Love it! especially the part where he laughs as soon as 2012 is brought up.

I have never heard of this man. which book would you say i should start with?

I like what he says about duality, and polarity. I often see a duality with the internet itself, do you think the internet could be without its duality? I think if the internet had its "bad side" taken out it would be only a half truth. how does something like the internet reach polarity?

... if i even make sense there

he has written the encyclopedia on psychoactive plants, which is a beautiful awesome book to have but it also has its mistakes or questionable information at points

Thanks for this post. It really has had me thinking, expanding on what I've learned. Never heard of this guy. I even have one of his books that he helped write: Plants of the Gods. Didn't realize it till I saw the list of publications in the erowid biography.

Plants of the Gods is a pretty good book. An easy read.
Posts made by me are either fictional or false, or both. I do not endorse, condone or engage in illegal activities. I love the state, my big brother. "I" myself am fictional. I am a collection of individuals, that are not entirely human. "I" do not exist in reality. Any resemblance to an individual bound by laws is merely coincidental. I lie and tell very little of the truth; do not believe me, and, especially, don't hold "me" accountable for any posts.

Rätsch is definatly one of the biggest figures in the field. His limited popularity in the US is not really a strange thing considering the fact that english is not his mother tongue.

Excellent interview...enjoyed it very much. You do realize that after he laughed (at the idea that 2012 was the end of the world) he went on to say that every beginning is some other beginnings end, and that 2012 is as metaphor for a Turning Point?

I also liked this: "The genuine scientific approach to [psychedelics] is to know that you do not know. To accept that nothing is stable. To accept that nothing is right or wrong." "That any theory can be falsified."
What, you ask, was the beginning of it all?
And it is this...

Existence that multiplied itself
For sheer delight of being
And plunged into numberless trillions of forms
So that it might
Find
Itself
Innumerably.
-Sri Aubobindo

Saidin is a fictional character, and only exists in the collective unconscious. Therefore, we both do and do not exist. Everything is made up as we go along, and none of it is real.

I also enjoyed this interview. wish the interviewer wouldn't say "right", "mhm-hmm", "yes", "I understand", "I see" so much and let him talk. lol
