What did SWIM precipitate? Options

After recovering 1.02g of DMT freebase using the standard STB tek, 75cc's of deep yellow naphtha was left over to experiment with. Freeze precipitating this liquid in a VERY cold freezer for several days yielded only miniscule amounts of tiny, oily crystals, and was therefore deemed "expended."

The naphtha was decanted into a clean beaker and principally out of curiosity rather than in any hope of recovering something of worth, 250mg of Fumeric acid was added. This was shaken for ten minutes, and then left to stand covered airtight for 24 hours. 320mg of a crumbly, yellowish, completely oil-free powder was recovered. Is this DMT fumarate that was precipitated? Does anyone know or have an opinion?

How would you go about bio-assaying the product?

Thanks!

Much appreciation Stop

250mg of fumaric acid was added, 320mg of stuff precipitated. These 320mg contain 250mg of fumaric acid plus 70mg of alkaloids, with the most of it being dmt that was too dilute to precipitate out of the naphtha.

What one can do? Just treat the whole 320mg pile as the equivalent of 70mg dmt in salt form. Could be a good dose for very sensitive people for a pharmahuasca if combined with MAOI. Alternatively it can be saved and freebased when more salt is available. SWIM would not bother freebasing such a small amount of salt and would just save it for when more is available.

Thanks, Infundibulum:

That's pretty much how SWIM figured it. He was going to try to dissolve 250mg of freebase in clean naphtha, then dry it out to see if any of it went into, and stayed in solution, but based upon your response, there is no need. SWIM infers from what you wrote that Fumeric acid is virtually insoluble in naphtha, and therefore only 70mg of actives are in the precipitate.

Best regards,
