Dunno if you were on chat a couple of days back, but I was expressing Terence's idea of a higher dimensional attractor pulling everything into a state of order.

Well here is some evidence for this in nature. Perhaps these are only obvious examples, and most are just far more complex. Either way, these pics are pretty cool

Pretty pictures they may be, but what about the second law ot thermodynamics? Until now there is not even a hint of its possible violation. If we consider our 4-dimentional universe and a higher dimention attractor a closed system, then in time this system will inevitably degrade into a more chaotic (less ordered) state.
Do not seek the truth, just drop your opinions.

Cool stuff, especially the fractally generated landscapes that look so much like the real ones. Also the Lichtenburg figures on the lightning strike patient are quite fascinating. I see how all this provides evidence for the fractal geometry of nature, but don't see how it offers evidence for TM's idea of a higher-dimensional attractor attracting everything into a final state. I never understood TM's ideas on this matter, though I suppose during a heroic psilocybin journey it might become more comprehensible. I think there are parallels between his ideas and Teilhard de Chardin's "Omega Point" concept. How exactly do you think this ties in with TM's ideas?

The second law simply states the dispersion of energy increases entropy. it defines an increase in entropy as a disordering of a system. Im just turning it around and saying entropy is in fact order.

I will read up on omega point.

As for the evidence:

Everything is pulled towards order. In every system.
Some examples:

-After the big bang there were incredible high temperatures (low entropy). Atoms could not form, only a soup of nucleons and electrons, known as plasma.

--subsequently, as time and space expanded, energy dispersed and the temperature decreased. Thus small atoms began to form, with electrons orbiting around them in circular orbits (according to the Bohr model) or forming standing waves in certain regions of probability around the nucleus (Schroedinger model). Thus order increased. However these atoms were in the gaseous phase, highly chaotic in their motion and energies.

--Then, as temperature decreased further, liquids were formed, higher order. Following this crystals formed. Highly ordered states.

-Order occurs in nature also (thats the link I posted)

-And Also in art, music, dance. The intrinsic nature of order, i.e. patterns and art. Music is the repetitions of vibrations, slowly modulating etc. Dance is the repetition of movement, with slight alterations (almost like a fractal). But there is no biological necessity for this. One could argue it comes with imagination, a tool used by our more primitive ancestors to become more developed, thus being naturally selected versus those imagination less apes. However, one could also argue that it is this "higher dimensional attractor" which is pulling everything in the universe towards order. Thus we do the same, except whilst being conscious.

-Furthermore, the visualisations often seen on psychedelics involve patterns. One could argue that psychedelics open us up towards this "divine attractor", allowing us to "see" the pull of this attractor almost.

Remember, this is just an idea, not fact.
