I am studying for my masters degree in herbal medicine right now and I need to write a book report on a book of my choosing..I want to find a book that has to do with using ayahuasca for healing..but not aya only, the whole dieta thing...like something that covers all of the plants used in dieta along with ayahusca..not just aya trip reports, you know..something that covers the whole healing process with herbs for the dieta along with the aya sessions..

There are lots of books about ayahuasca, peyote etc that I personally would pick..becasue it is totally relevant to herbal medicine..but I dont know what type of reactions I will get if I only talk about psychedelics and not other non-psychoactive herbs as well...but i definatily want to put forth a magical/shamanistic approach to healing with plants in my report. I studies religous anthropology and shamanism/witchcraft ealier in college so I am qualified to argue my points with the instructor if I need to..thank.

the best on that subject is vegetalismo by eduardo luna... its really hard to get though...
lets see... another would be perhaps rainer bussmans books
http://www.amazon.com/Pl...id=1253667810&sr=8-7
this is the best on sanpedro shamanry in ethnobotany... hes a good guy too.
but its in spanish... you might be able to contact him if you look him up and get some english translations...

Fractal, is there a book that covers all effective herbal medicines, please?
One that would be useful if society crumbled and you had to grow your own medicines...
If the books are regional then UK would be best for me, but a complete worldwide encyclopedia of effective plants would be best.

Thanks Dorge, I'm interested in your suggestions too.
Everything I write is fictional roleplay. Obviously! End tribal genocide: www.survival-international.org Quick petitions for meaningful change: www.avaaz.org/en/
End prohibition: www.leap.cc www.tdpf.org.uk And "Feeling Good" by David D.Burns MD is a very useful book.

Really what I would recomend is that you start building a library of books..thats what im doing. There are lots of good books on herbs and natural medicines out there..but you will be hard pressed to find one book that contains everything.
