DUB-STEP!!!

I hate dubstep, it all sounds the bloody same! Razz

I love drum and bass and techno, granted they are similiar but dubstep just annoys me. Like lots of bands too, death to dubstep! Laughing

You've obviously never listened to good dub-step. D&B sounds like someone ate a half gram of molly and started playing with a drum machine. Its ok but its hard to dance that fast.

You obviously never listened to any good drum and bass. Smile

There's good music in all genres... maybe not splittercore Smile

Me likes electro, techno, boogie, italo, funk, old hip hop, ambient and lots inbetween. What I dislike is probably easier to map but I don’t fancy starting a genre war Pleased

Of course theres goood music in every genre, ive just never heard it with dubstep. apparantly ive heard great dubstep. Confused Laughing Dubstep sounds like crap slow drum and bass, wobble wobble hit wobble wobble hit, never really going anywhere, the basses can feel good but thats it for me. Dnbs the most free flowing music there is to dance to imo, of course to each their own I just dont get it.

As of late, I'm mostly into artists like Ingrid Michaelson and Dar Williams - that kind of recent yet "old soul" pretty, chill, and meaningful music. If that makes any sense Razz

Just discovered entheogenic through a friend of mine, they are great too. So is Mushroom Lab

I'll second this. Shulman are amazing. All their albums are top notch, I just wish they would hurry up and release another!

I enjoy most downtempo psy stuff if I'm in an altered state. I like a fair amount of prog as well. Opeth, Ozric Tentacles, Dream Theater, Spock's Beard and Porcupine Tree are all good. Steven Wilson and Simon Posford need to do a collaboration.

Although I'm now moving away for the MDMA thing, a lot of artists on Platipus Records, but especially Art of Trance will probably always have a place in my heart.

Yeah, Shulman is good. Especially his second album - "In Search of a Meaningful Moment". I remember it: a heart-breaking, unending hunt for a satisfying resolution. Showing me the beauty of everything and pointing out that I'm basically homeless in all of this. I don't like that feeling, but accept it as an inseparable part of the human condition.
