My buddy never gets any iconographic beings out of the spice. He has always told me he thought it was due to his lack of religious beliefs. However, very recently in an ayahuasca session in the woods his girlfriend, who is just as atheist as him, reported seeing a radiating Indian 'lotus lady' who "took lotuses from a beautiful machine and passed them up the river."
So seeing a god icon does not require religious beliefs? My buddy gets plenty of awesome visions for sure but never any god-icons. But her experience sounds very reminiscent of many other reports I've read. It seems common. She is really into yoga so I imagine the imagery came from that somehow but she tells me she does yoga purely for fitness and mind/body balance. She does not think she buys into the spiritual side of it.
I have questions for those of you who experience such icons.
Are they the same or similar from trip to trip?
Do you experience them every time at a given level of trip intensity?
Are they informed by previous instruction in a particular spiritual school of thought?
I kinda wanna see a god-icon! Should I simply surround myself with more iconographic art?

SWIM thinks it helps. SWIM has some egyptian papyrus art in SWIMs room and always does funny things like send its patterns all over the walls during spice journeys.
