What do you guys eat before a experience with an MAOI substance? And maybe more importantly what do you NOT eat?
Does this go for ayahuasca and pharmahuasca aswell? Or do other rules apply in those cases?
I have read that tyramine containing foods need to be avoided at all costs at least 12 hours before ingestion and 24 hours after ingestion.

Peace

That's only for MAOI.

Harmalas are actually RIMA.

I eat a good diet all the time, and never concern myself with what I have or haven't eaten when working with ayahausca and changa.

So what would you say when using Syrian Rue for example?

Same thing, although rue is more toxic on it's own.

Have a light meal a few hours before ingestion. Consume with a bit of fruit or a piece of toast, something light to get things moving.
Then, eat whatever you want after...
Experiment to find what works for you.

The only thing you need to worry about with RIMA/Harmalas are pharmaceuticals, not food.

Are you sure about this? Because on Erowid Syrian Rue is considered and MAOI. Could you give an example of a MAOI then please as opposed to a RIMA?

Thanks for the quick reply.

Ok thanks for the link, but why is syrian rue also mentioned in the MAOI list on wikipedia?

Or am i just getting this whole story wrong?

For many years people thought Harmalas were MAOI but they aren't true MAOI like the others, they are RIMA!

Just my random two cents, I like fruits for a lot of reasons: it is alive, it is grown for us with love by plants [so, if you are looking to connect with plant energy], it is pharmaceutical-grade MAOI friendly, it digests very quickly, it has high water content and is refreshing, and is about the only thing that still tastes nice in reverse. Pleased
Some things will come easy, some will be a test
