Almost the last step of changa production Options

Hi,
I made a terrible mistake. During the last step of changa production, when I mixed herbs with dmt in alcohol, the glass fell into pot full of water...
I tried to warmed it up to evaporate the water but it can take ages.

Is there anything I can do now ?
I read that dmt can be damaged in 100degress...

I have around 1 liter of water, herbs, dmt and harmala combined....

If I boil the water Im afraid that dmt won't be there anymore.
If I wait till it evaporate by itself I need months and plenty of sunny days, but also I would need to leave the jar open so oxygen might hurt dmt.
If I try to freeze it (??) what can happen besides the glass can break ??

I still have more harmala, but that was almost all the harvest from my dmt extraction

How can I get back dmt ?? or how to evaporate this water?

Please help me

Interesting problem Wink
I would take the plant matter out first and keep it aside. Then put the pot in the oven on say 70-80C.
I assume the alcohol will evaporate first and given that Freebase alks are not water soluble maybe they will fall out of the solution and then you can filter them out.

EDIT: you can basify the solution a bit to expediate the process.

I would add some acid to convert freebases to salts, boiled off most of the water to obtain water concentrate and extract alkaloids from it.

so 1. remove plants
2. add acid (can be vinegar?) to change freebase into salts
3. boil water off but not everything keep a bit
and
4. change pH into 13 again by adding NaOH, then again napftha, stirring and using turkey pipe insert material into glass tray
5. freeze

I underestand that salt is more likely to survive boiling process, right Doubledog ?

Monomind, alcohol is out for sure already. You think I might just use coffee filter, pour it and in the filter I might find crystals ?

This is what I will try first yes, but if you leave it in the oven for a while, in a shallow dish, evaporation will not take that long. The DMT might be goo rather than crystals at this point and in that case filtering will not help.

The safest route to recover everything is either evaporate in the oven on low temp, or go the acid route as the others suggested, but it is much more work and imho not worth the trouble.

Good luck Thumbs up

Maybe before doing this I would try a sneaky shortcut:

DMT freebase in water will float on top if you have a huge amount. It will do even more when you heat the water a little, best case above DMT melting point (> 60 °C).

Now sadly not sure about the efficiency as you also have some alcohol inside. I would only create Changa with Aceton, evaporates much faster.

In any way:

- put herbs out
- warm the water to > 60 °C
- put into container which is TALL but SLENDER
- put a little bit of Naphtha on top

Now with some luck a big amount of your DMT will float on top of the water (does not mix, density is below 1 so collects on top) and directly migrate into the naphtha if it is molten (that's why heating to > 60 °C).

Then evaporate or freeze precipitate the naphtha.

Maybe that might be worht a try before completely dispensing the DMT in a huge volume like 1 L by adding the acid Surprised
