I came here in 2019 to do some very quick research about the DMT world. It's important to me that I diligently research what I am about to put into my body. Not just as a means of being safe, but to have a more sure fire pleasant experience after getting to know the drug.

Having said that, I rushed my research and was overly antsy to try the spice. I never had a bad time on it. I was welcomed to a realm of impossible shapes and structures, beautifully vibrant and saturated colors of fractal worlds. Morphos of all kinds coming out of the jim jam. I enjoyed traveling through the chrysanthemum I would learn to know and love, but I was often stopped at the gates of the true temple by local entities ushering me way.

I had been going through intense bouts with anxiety in 2018-2020 and was drinking a lot of alcohol to combat it. I would often drink before the DMT experience as a way to calm my nerves.

I now know that hastily researching the Nexus, and drinking before my experiences, resulted in in some mediocre experiences where I wasn't permitted to stay for long.

In one instance, a blue woman and a blue man stopped me before the gates, ushering me away and back to the fractal world. Another occasion, I was trying to enter a psychedelic cyber punk club with velvet ropes and a cyborg bouncer. He too waved me off, denying me entry. Lastly, I was bombarded by what I now know are "Foo Dogs" or "Chinese Dragon Lions" which in mythology are guardian statues outside of buddhist temples from the Han Dynasty meant to protect holy structures from evil or misguided spirits (me).

As I have been back over the last week, I have learned MUCH much more. Not just about the Nexus, hyperspace, terminology, etc, but I now have the ingredients and equipment to embark on my first extraction. This time, I will get to know the spice and give it the respect that it deserves before attempting to travel again. I am in no rush, and have been having a great time learning via threads, teks, and kind folks in the chat room.

Other than DMT, psychedelics haven't really been a part of my life in my thirties. I used them heavily in my late teens and early to mid twenties and I'm not sure how many more times I will, but with DMT I feel a different connection and am looking forward to exploring not just the Nexus, but my own mind.

Thank you all.

Also, some things about me. I love to cook, I cook every day. I also make hot sauces, pasta sauces, spice blends etc. I'm an avid musician and play a lot of guitar and keyboard, but lately tinker around with synthesizers and drum machines to make weird electronic music. Mostly music for video games that don't exist. I draw and paint, Suminagashi painting is my newest hobby. I love to skateboard and play golf. I love a good cocktail. Lastly I play a lot of video games on my PC and am really trying to cut down on that as I'm 35 and have too many responsibilities now. Excited to be here with fellow travelers and I'm excited to explore the forums, not just extraction and hyperspace.

Welcome back. I recently returned too. Glad to hear you're going to try extraction. I see you have a mono tub tek in your signature. I find a similar feeling of connection has formed over the years working with mushrooms and working with extractions. Maybe it's just me, but I feel a deep emotional connection to the mushrooms when growing. I feel excited just thinking about growing, although I haven't in years. I get a similar feeling with extraction. It's not as intense as with mushrooms. And it's not like the contentious relationship. You're probably going to love it.

Speaking of growing mushrooms, while I was away from this community, I missed a lot of stuff. For instance, I hadn't heard about P. Natalences until last night. I absolutely have to try those. I've been treating depression with various psychedelics for many years. Then a TBI made my depression worse. Then I had covid and it got even worse. I had pretty much stopped being able to take mushrooms because the body load was so intensely unpleasant to me. Especially when I tried penis envy. My body doesn't like those. The Natalencis supposedly have a greatly reduced body load. Hopefully I get a chance to try some one day.

I'm also a cook, musician and artist. I've only recently started drawing and painting in my 50s. It's very satisfying. You mentioned synthesizers. Financial woes forced me to sell 75% of my modular recently, but I still have a small system. I mostly play guitar music. Acoustic and electric. Pretty strange stuff. I'm big into Brian Eno and his work with Robert Fripp and lots of other stuff. I have too many records and Cds. I love making electronic music and have a mild obsession with Aphex Twin.
Is there anywhere I can check out your music?
Also: I'm getting into Suminagashi. I love ink. I'm going to attempt use sound to form the swirls.

We sound like kindred spirits. It only makes sense that here on this forum I would run into like minded people though. Hence the title of my thread.

The mushrooms really did beckon me. I was interested in the experience years before trying it. My very first trip was in Texas where I had foraged for the mushrooms myself. I got lucky in a cow field and spend the rest of the evening walking along the beach by myself. I remember listening to Radiohead's Ok Computer for the very first time on headphones. The song "Subterranean Homesick Alien" comes to mind. I had only been interested in the visual experience of psychedelics but that night came to find that it also altered your perception and way of thinking. I was hooked. From 17-25 I was experimenting with psychedelics on a weekly basis. Around 25 I slowed down and started focusing more on building a life for myself as I was falling behind my peers from all of the partying. My last mushroom trip was August 21st, 2017 during the last Total Eclipse the USA had. It was fun, but I became tired from the 6 hour body high, and that year I started developing intense anxiety from financial woe and uncertainty about my future. I was single, broke, and directionless. That would all change when I started my new career in 2018, and since then, life has been great and I've slowly but surely crept back into the idea that doing psychedelics can be enjoyable for me again, but for now, specifically DMT as it is short acting and something I'm more interested in exploring as opposed to an LSD or mushroom trip. I prefer mushrooms over LSD though and will probably never do LSD again. I hate the way it makes my body feel and I can never sleep when it's over.

Anyways, I fell in love with mushroom cultivation. You're right, their was a romance with it. A level of respect to the degree of patience, and the amount of cafeful preparation it required in order to enjoy that very special harvesting day. I can only imagine that peering into the freezer to look at the Pyrex dish of crystals is akin to checking for pinning after introducing a tub of Cubensis to fruiting conditions.

May I ask what a TBI is? I'm sorry you've had bouts with depression. I've certainly had mine. My deepest pit was ages 25-30, the worst of it at 27. I never, ever want to go back to that place and every day I take measures to ensure I don't get anywhere close to it. That's interesting that you use psychedelics for depression, I would be too scared to mix the two. I started having panic attacks in 2017, the first one happened while I was visiting Tokyo, Japan, and I had a few more after that. I've only just recently gotten over it and haven't had any issues in years. I have GOT to know more about these P. Natalences though, as the body high from psychedelics is by far my least favorite part of the experience. I understand that nausea is an important part of any naturally occurring psychedelic experience, especially with mushrooms and ayahuasca, but I'm talking about chest pressure, joint pain, extra gravity etc. I'll start researching those. Is there a sticky thread on The Shroomery about these? Or has it been known for a while? [/quote]

Kindred spirits I tell ya. I have an Aphex Twin tattoo. My biggest inspirations are old school video game music from the 90's, think Super Nintendo and Windows 95. Breakbeats and Trance from the early 2000's, and melody styles from Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, The Flashbulb, U-Ziq, etc. Everyone in my state knows me as the Aphex fanatic. I haven't made music in 5 years due to some software and hardware incompatibles but I'm in the midst of working on it as I've been inspired to start making music again, but some of my stuff is on soundcloud and you can find it here. https://soundcloud.com/widderic

Melodic Martians is a cover of a track from Aphex Twins "Melodies From Mars".

DX-Sphere is the last track I made. Nice to meet you and thank you for the warm welcome. I look forward to keeping you in the loop with my extraction endeavors. I have a tek I am working on that is in my signature now if you'd like to take a look. Cheers!
