Headaches from DMT Options

Hi,

Does anyone else get headaches from smoking DMT? Are there any known reasons why?

When I vape my DMT and do a couple of journeys in a row I seem to nearly always get a headache in the hours afterwards that can continue into the next day. 1 journey and this rarely happens.

The worse was yesterday afternoon when I took Syrian Rue and vaped DMT, I did a couple of journeys. Beautiful experience, but the headache that followed was terrible. It got worse throughout the night to the point where I woke up lots of times in agony. The pain of this headache continued into the morning until I could get some aspirin to numb it. Now when I shake my head side to side quickly I still feel the pain from the headache - the aspirin is just numbing it in normal walking, sitting, etc movements.

Im wondering if there is some increased blood flow to capillieries that strains the blood vessels or something?

I'm thinking pain like this around the head/brain cannot be good.

it can happen ..check the purity of your spice...

make shure you are not burning your spice...

That does not sound right at all to me. To reaffirm starway, i think you should test the purity or do are-x. You may have some residual nps trapped in Crystal of it was “dried” too rapidly or some other impurity.

Do you experience headaches without using spice or other drugs? Rue might have something to do with it, i don’t Jade knowledge to chime in on that though.

Be careful out there, and as always: Be Good to You!!!

Hi guys,

I dont think its a purity thing.

I have experienced headaches after shrooms when I had two trips in the same day, interestingly enough.

I also experienced headaches after 2cb. However I found that if i take a vasorelaxant supplement (e.g. magnesium, or alpha lipioc acid, etc) i dont experience any headaches at all - the vasocontricting properties are offset.

Hi, maybe try to lower the frequency you are tripping. Two mushroom trips in one day might put too much strain on your brain. Sometimes less is more.

Post-serotonergic headaches are quite well-known.

The tip about vasorelaxant supplementation is a good one. One shouldn't underestimate the benefit of a bit of extra magnesium, also helps for muscle cramps.

I wouldn't do two mushroom trips in one day either.

The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."

One can imagine that being plunged into and pulled out of hyperspace again and again is rather hard on the noodle.

I don't know what the reason for this might be (increased blood pressure? brain strain?) but the best remedy is to just pace yourself. Weight lifters don't do maximum weight several times a day...

My response was thrown out there quickly, was riddled with typos and i missed the statement about repeated dosing. I was curious if you experience headaches withOUT having taken anything frequently?

Having missed the twice in one day thing I have a different question: how’s your hydration? Razz

I think the frequency of taking DMT might play into this.

I have so far never had any headaches from DMT, until yesterday. I spent the last week experimenting with different vaping devices and settings, so I was doing low doses of DMT almost daily. After a 20mg trip yesterday, I noticed a slight headache coming out of it, and I still had a headache when I woke up this morning. So, maybe taking DMT frequently is a factor.

I am definitely going to try using a vasodilator in the future to prevent headaches. Hydration is another good point, and now that I think about it, I might have been slightly dehydrated yesterday.

There is, of course, also the possibility that these headaches are entirely unrelated. People get headaches sometimes.

I call them tryptamine headaches, which may or may not be a misnomer, but I can experience headaches, intermittently, on DMT, LSD, and mushrooms. It's usually pretty easy to allow it to exist without trying to or needing to alleviate it.

[reading report above looks like the headaches were related to ..to using dmt too often! . in a short amount of time...

I want to say the report above sounds like my recent experiance...as he was experimenting almost daily with vaping devices and developed a headache ..[something i usually never get] ...from trying dmt in low doses ..[too often in a short amount of a time]...it may be a bloodpressure related thing...?

i think taking a .vasodilator [like chocolate...or garlic] and hydrating you self.. before vaping might be good idea...

also dmt sessions should not be every day! ...for saftey...

I think ive discovered the cause of my headache from vaping spice ..........
[using the E mesh [convection]..pre heat method ...

I believe using the plastic top cap ..[during preheating and vaping stage]...started to melt a little on bottom of cap.. [during convection pre heating] causing

the spice to be contaminated by a little plastic vapor! [not nice!

I have evedence of the bottom of plastic cap softening from the high heat ........

[during convection preheating stage]..

I believe the convection method should still work ok...but dont use the plastic cap!!..replace it with a metal..stainless...or copper..or aluminum cap...

Vaping the usual E mesh way... doesnt cause melting of the plastic cap..because ..the vapeing happens so fast!. during the conduction stage...the heat doesnt remain long enough to melt the plastic cap...

the see the story go to....[other]thread...

[UPDATE!! .. E mesh..conduction to convection..] thread..read post 3...

DONT USE! plastic cap pictured below with.. convection preheat method...it can melt on bottom causing contamination of spice vapor!

USE all metal cap to iliminate this problem.. during preheat..convection vaping to be safe..

bottom photos shows bottom melted edges of the top cap...not to be used in the preheat method unless replaced by metal caps!
