So I've had this cold water/citric acid syrian-rue extraction in my fridge for a few months and I just recently notice a water-bloated gummy ball rolling around the bottom of the jar. After partially drying it on a filter it looked like this: I'm not sure what this could be. I used a muslin bag and coffee-filter to suspend the seed powder in a solution of lemon crystals and distilled water. Some seed particles had gotten into the solution. It doesn't seem to smell like the lemon crystals at all. Has anyone ever noticed something like this before?

I don't know SWIM and personally don't trust him at all. If SWIM is posting, most likely I will not respond...as I said, I don't trust the guy. YOU I trust, but never SWIM.

Yes, I bet it's a mold or bacteria - I get them too. My yellow rue seed extract sits in the fridge for weeks, and a fuzzy, gelatinous ball forms in it - or even a bunch grow like fungal colonies. Must be some acid loving fungus or bacteria, diggin' it in lemon juice !

Hmm, I figured it might be, though it seemed like pretty harsh conditions for it. Thanks! Tossed that stuff right out.
