Trying to regain access to a lost account to continue my experimenting with phalaris. Options

Hi

I have an account on here by the name (sidisheikh.mehriz). Unfortunately I broke my phone beyond repair and had to buy a new one. Now I cannot remember my password so I had to make this new account in hopes that I can get some help to regain my old account.

I have tried emailing traveler about this but I had no response yet.

This year's spring I've been reporting some good success with phalaris brachyatchys brewed with paganum harmala. Now that September is approaching I would like to get back to growing this phalaris again and got plenty of seeds to sowe. I have a plan to extract it this time around, bioassay and report back here.. though I'd prefer to get back on my old account to do this so I don't have to start all over again and so that all my work stays within one place rather than be scattered under two accounts.

Thank you.

Hi sidi, one of the mods should chime in soon and put you in touch with Trav. It should all get sorted out fairly promptly. I'd been wondering how you are as the subject of mixed solvent extractions came up. I hope you're faring better than your old phone did!

Thumbs up

Hi there downward it's good to see you still here. That's awesome! Thanks for notifying me.

The hexane/dichloromethane mix worked well for me in mescaline extraction. Strangely the same hexane alone has worked for me before when I used a hot water bath for the extraction. While the hexane is evaporating and getting colder alkaloids used to condense as brownish liquid at the bottom of the solvent, used to pipette this oil and salt it with vinegar and was perfectly active.

The second time I used the same hexane without heating it and it hasn't extracted anything no matter how many pulls I did. I initially thought that the problem was using formic acid in the salting step I just thought that the formic acid has destroyed my product because of an intense pink colour reaction taking place when I add the formic acid to the pulled hexane. The following extraction I used hexane dichloromethane mix cold and it sucked up colorful much faster from the basified tea. I salted this solvent mixture with vinegar to be on the safe side and got a good yield as light amber oil that upon stirring with a knife tip turned to an off white waxy powder that turned quiet potent (I always use trichocerus bredgesii).

Having confirmed the effectiveness of such solvent mixture I did a second extraction on another batch of bredgesii tea and salted with formic acid and it worked well. It just had a different crystal structure (fine needles) upon stirring it turns to semi crystalline amber goo but turned fully solid after a while. This extract was also potent.

Attached below is pictures of the extract salted with formic acid at different stages of its crystallization.

That's quite an interesting observation regarding the hot hexane which raises a number of questions. Does freebase mescaline dissolve in hot hexane, or is there another effect at play because it's a crude extraction phase? Perhaps the mescaline piggybacks with oily material from the plant matter. That it separates out on cooling is also of some significance. On the face of it, it's of obvious use in an extraction procedure although it sounds as though it might not be terribly efficient. It does make me wonder whether a hexane/acetone mix using just a dash of acetone might turn out to be useful.

The colour change with formic acid will likely be due to reaction with some other substance from the plant material. Your tests suggest that no significant loss of mescaline occurred. It's great to see what might be the first pictures of crude cactus alkaloid formates on the internet!

The times the hexane alone worked for extraction it made some great yields actually. The tea was reduced to a dense liquid it was defatted with olive oil which catched up a lot of green brownish color but some olive oil droplets remained in the tea when I moved to basification. I also used lye heavily in this one along with table salt. Then I added the hexane to the hot tea. It was hot enough that it made the hexane bubble (high caution is advised here for ventilation) I believe the remainder of fats from the cactus plus the few drops of olive oil has helped the hexane in extracting the goodies.

I have read in few places around the Nexus that some alkaloids are non soluble in petroleum distillates but with a bit of fats contamination they become soluble. So I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case.

While I haven't used hexane/acetone mix I did use hexane/isopropyl and that also worked. Adding lye and salt to the tea makes the isopropyl move from the aqueous solution to the non polar phase. Upon salting the isopropyl moves back to the aqueous phase this one mixture didn't require heating at all.

Another method I tried is just evaporating the tea to a goo and mixing it very well with isopropyl. Large part of the goo dissolves and quiet some gunk coagulates like a gum thing.. the dissolved liquid is clear free from particles. This liquid is easily dried in a hand rotated glass jar with a hair dryer blowing hot air inside it. Mini acid base on the dried extract with dichloromethane makes for an almost tasteless very viscous amber extract that proves very pleasant. I feel like this method is the easiest when am feeling lazy.

I no longer cook chopped 🌵 I just run the cactus flesh into a centrifuge juicer and reduce this juice in the stover and extract it right away.. to save time ..
I leave the remaining solids from the juicing in the freezer for another weekend and get another couple doses from that.

Can't wait to apply all what I have learned by trial and error about extractions on pulling tryptamines from phalaris Very happy

Feels good to know I have limitless access to a local potent and tried phalaris brachys. I mean from 630g fresh grass 20% of which was phalaris truncata at late spring when the grass was in Anthesis stage and starting to loose it's leaves.. reduced to about 650ml from which I only drank about 100ml and those 100ml were drank slowly between sips stretched out for like 30~40 mins and gave me a solid experience.
Imagine what yield once can get from this in the fall and early spring when it's still in the vegetative stage!

I can literally harvest over a kg of the seeds next Late spring if I wanted and have got plenty of farming space to sowe this. With reports on the Nexus of as as little as 18 grams fresh being active how come there isn't any reports on tryptaminne extracts in the scale of several grams from this plant?!

Ever since my first oral experience with this grass I can't get it off my mind and can't stop thinking about what it will feel like vaped! And how much the yields could be. How much biomass I can attain etc etc.

I just finished reading the phalaris section of the revised edition of entheogen review and all dikorn, Appleseed, festi and samorini and trout's notes on the grass. Quiet excitingVery happy
Its a shame that the seeds has its dormancy period and won't germinate in this heat. I keep trying to germinate few seeds every few weeks to test if the time has come yet to start sowing trying to catch the soweing time as early as possible when the temperatures are still high as it's the heat that produce the highest alkaloid yields.

Have you joined Share the Seeds yet? I think a lot of people would be interested in checking out the cultivation parameters.
