Hey guys.
I bought a few grams of something called "Syrian rue extract", it looked like a powder as soon as it arrived, now it is hard, like a resin ...
What can I do to make it back to powder and mix it easily in my changa?

Thanks!

A couple of pointers:
2.2 No discussion on selling, buying, sourcing, acquiring, pricing, trading, receiving, distributing, mentioning pending deliveries or smuggling of drugs
2.14 Only talk about sources for live plants and seeds

It would be useful to know what extraction solvent was used for producing the material you have. Is it likely to be harmala alkaloid freebase or is it a salt form such as the hydrochloride or acetate?

Here is the Harmalas subforum, where you can read about harmala extraction techniques.

You could try dissolving your extract in 95% ethanol first. If that doesn't work try distilled water, then try water slightly acidified with acetic acid.

If it dissolves in ethanol you can put that onto your changa herb and allow to evaporate. The trouble is, you have no idea what the extract really is nor how strong it is. For changa you could use caapi leaf instead, or use Syrian rue seed to produce your own extract. This would remove an unsettling element of uncertainty.

Thank you for the advice! I tried to dissolve it in water, it's possible ... it turned into brown water!
I'll try alcohol!

Sorry for not respecting the rules ... I will police myself!

Thank you very much!Very happy

OK, so it dissolves in water. You could precipitate the alkaloids with sodium hydroxide or ammonia. Redissolving them in vinegar and performing a Manske precipitation with salt (sodium chloride) would give you a clearer indication that you have the right stuff.
