I have had an American Weigh scale http://www.americanweigh...=99&products_id=580. And recently I had lost the little metal tray that you holds the powders/xtals/etc.

Is there anything i could use to improvise for that little tray. It seems pretty unique in its design so I really don't know what to use in its place??

(Have tried laying down a little piece of paper and a few other things to substitute and it didnt seem to calculate weight right.)

Get a plastic milk jug or something similar. Use a scissors to cut out a corner (or any appropriately curvy area) and trim it down to size. If you cut it in the right area you should be able to get something similar to the size and shape of the original metal piece, I think

You could also try moulding something out of a piece of kitchen foil...

Or using the lid from a small jar.

That raised area around where the tray sits makes it hard to improvise. Maybe stack up some coins until you can perch a tray of some kind on top.
