Well in my view there are some things not that clever and/or could be improved/alterated.
1.) You are telling that you want to get Caapi to use them as a base for Changa.
You do not really have to get them ... they act as MAOI, but their content (without making an extract) is so little, it will not really have an effect. Especially (!) if you then also put Harmala Alkaloids on your mixture. This on the other hand is of course really effective and you will get a true MAO-inhibiting blend.
So just use any herb that you like for the plant base, its more important what you add as
real ingredients (DMT, Harmalas). Using Caapi leaves may only be for fashion than for a real game changer.
2.) There is no reason to definetly use ethanol instead of Acetone. So I would recommend using Acetone ... DMT will nearly INSTANTLY dissolve instead of having to heat everything and secondly it evaporates much faster. Only downside: Harmalas dont dissolve in Acetone, but in my view they also dont really dissolve in Ethanol ... so there is no difference then. I would just recommend to sprinkle the Harmalas evenly on your mixture before you start evaporating.
3.) 0,5 g DMT : 2 g Harmalas : 1 g plant matter
That is WAAAAYYY too much Harmalas and also kind of way too less DMT. If your blend does not even contain 40 % DMT, then it will not really have a pleasurable effect.
I would say joust for 40-60 % DMT. In my eyes it should be 50+. And for Harmalas: They should make something like 10-20 %.
You can easily make a mixture of 2:1:0,3 regarding DMT:Herb:Harmalas. The herbs are just there to *carry* your actives. So there is no real reason to add more herbs than necessary. And changa will work even with veeeerry little herbs and much actives.
Process:
I would say make it like this:
Get your herbs and check if you have a glass with an EVEN ground that big enough to spread your herbs evenly to NOT form multiple layers, but also to NOT have uncovered spaces inbetween. The ground should be covered with the herbs, but the herbs should be mostly 1 layer. This is important to make your actives spread most evenly on the herbs, but also not lose actives that will stick to the ground.
Then put your herbs out again ... and fill the container with Acetone so high, that the herbs will be just covered with Acetone. But before actually placing them back, throw your DMT onto it. Then it will dissolve in seconds, then throw your herbs in. As the Harmalas will not dissolve, sprinkle them evenly on top like powdery suggar on a cake.
Then place a fan besides and make everything evaporate. After 15 minutes there will mostly be only traces of liquid, mostly being water. (You get water inside of your Acetone by blowing with a fan, but on the other hand Ethanol always has water inside of it right from the beginning ...)
Now take your wet herbs out and place them inside of a chamber with a dessicant. CaCl2 if you can find it, otherwise any other common dessicant from hardware stores. After 24 h + your herbs will be perfectly dry!
Weigh them to check if you got 100 % of actives on your herbs. If you dont get to 100 % then it will mostly be Harmalas, that were sticking to the ground instead of to your herbs. When doing it with pure DMT you will always get near 100 %, to adjust the Harmalas you can always sprinkle a little more than you would originally.
Good luck!
Ooops theres another question:
Quote:My only question is, for the harmala alkaloids, can I use syrian rue? and I have to turn it into powder, correct?
Yes, but that is easy.
Cook the seeds 2x in pH 3 water - DONT EVER GRIND THEM BEFORE! It will make it impossible to filter them and is not needed to extract the Harmalas.
Remove the seeds - then make the water extract basic (pH 10+) and the Harmalas will precipitate. It will take ~ 3 minutes for them to sink to the ground. Decant as much water as possible, then refill the container to the top with new water. Let the Harmalas sink to the ground again and repeat. Stop when the water is nearly colourless. Then dry your Harmalas and you have your extracted Syrian Rue power MAOI.
