Thought I would share this, I have been having trouble with standard VG, Vapour gets really hot and never sure how long to keep the flame on. A glass turkey baster was simply taped to the VG. (looks a bit rubbish I know Wink ) but wow does it make a difference. I can see the vapour so know when to remove flame, the larger glass chamber cools it so much I can hardly notice any heat. very smooth and can inhale so much more.

I know I'm not the first to try something like this, But until I can afford a GVG this does a good job.

Thanks Smile

Interesting, thanks for sharing Smile Hopefully the part connected with the tape doesn`t get too hot, you wouldn`t want to be inhaling tape glue vapors.

Other than that I think its actually a great idea. I do have the classic VG and it`s been basically ignored for years now since I got the GVG, due to it warming up too much and being harder to gauge the hit without seeing the vapor. So this modification you made is actually very relevant I think, maybe I try out something similar and if it works well, I can give the modified VG away to someone that could make use of it.

Thank you mate,

The tape is electrical insulation tape and as the baster is pushed right up as far as it will go onto the wood, it's really only there to hold the baster in place, so I don't think that even if it did get hot the fumes shouldn't enter the chamber, i don't feel it gets very warm where the tape is anyway, It also works quite well using a salt shaker with hole drilled into bottom (like the machine) then fitted over GV in the same way,
I must say, it's so much nicer being able to see the vapour and it's pretty smooth and cool

Cheers mate
