Preparation Recipes for Psilocybe Options

SWIM thought it might be interesting to gather others' ideas of how to mask the flavor or even potentiate the effects of psilocybes as recipes.

SWIM used to enjoy the flavor of his mushrooms but seems to have developed a reverse tolerance for it, so last night, he decided to do something about it.

Ingredients and Supplies Needed:
-dried psilocybe mushrooms
-small bamboo steamer basket
-small saucepan
-60% cacao chocolate chips
-honey
-small paper muffin cups
-muffin pan
-pyrex mixing bowl or a double boiler
-sharp kitchen knife

Process:
1. Weigh the appropriate dosage of dried mushrooms.
2. Bring water in the saucepan to a full boil.
3. Place the mushrooms in the steamer basket in such a way as to keep track of the individual doses and prevent any from falling through.
3. Place the steamer basket over-top the saucepan, set a timer for 8-9 minutes, but steam for no more than ten minutes.
5. While steaming, prepare the appropriate number of paper muffin cups in the muffin pan and add a heaping amount of the chocolate chips to each.
6. Pour the chips into the pyrex bowl or double boiler.
4. Collect the mushrooms and chop finely, keeping each dose separate.
[If making an improvised double boiler, allow the water in the sauce-pan to continue boiling and place the pyrex bowl in the sauce-pan, being careful not to allow the water to overflow. Reduce the heat slightly immediately so as to avoid boiling over]
5. Stir the chocolate in the double boiler occasionally until runny.
6. Fill each cup in the muffin pan slightly less than halfway with the melted chocolate. Try to create a divot in the middle an add a small amount of honey to the divot; this is where the chopped mushrooms are to be placed.
7. After placing the mushrooms in the divot, cover them with a coat of honey, trying to cover the entire fruit body.
8. Fill the rest of the cup with chocolate so that the honey and mushrooms are entirely encased.
9. Place the muffin pan in the freezer, and the chocolate will solidify in about half an hour.
10. Enjoy!


There are at least three potentiating elements in this recipe: The hydrolyzation of the psilocybin into psilocin from the steaming process (theoretically), the theobromine in the chocolate, and the redox agents in the honey to preserve psilocin and (possibly?) convert oxidized psilocin back into an active form. SWIM would improve this recipe by adding kola nut extract to boost the theobromine levels.

SWIM was incredibly happy with how this turned out and would probably never do it any other way.

Some plain recipes like melting a bar of chocolate, mixing with powdered mushrooms, pouring into a form and letting cool and harden again, can work very good

Or also just putting the dried mushrooms straight in honey, also makes the taste quite good, all crunchy and sweet, yum yum haha

But then again, SWIM actually doesnt mind at all the taste of mushroom, fresh or dry... Though this recipe you posted does sound interesting, might try that sometime

The thing is that chocolate can be quite touchy and will lose flavor if overheated. Suppose that may not not matter so much for most, though.

but what is overheating?

using some sort of.. hmm dont know how its called in english, "mary bath"? haha Its when one boils water, and the container with the chocolate on top, so it never goes over 100 celcius

The problem for SWIM, actually, is that most of these chocolate bars are too sweet, he can only stand minimum 75, ideally 85-90% dark chocolate, and when they melt many times they dont harden up much, unless in the fridge, so its hard to carry it somewhere... But if its to stay and be consumed locally, can work perfect

I like boiling with tea bags and adding sugar and lemon and creating a nice pitcher to sip on. 1 z will do it and get several people off.

Two great Methods to Prepare Psilocybes

Of course i like to simply submerge separated Mushroom Caps (the slightly more potent part) in beautiful Honey to make a yummy very nice looking snack for on the way out of em . But for several reasons these 2 Methods are even better





Stealthy Psilocybe Honey :

Take your Amount of Mushrooms and prepare a Tea from them , after the soak press them out very well to get nearly everything out - Make sure you add an Anti Oxidative Agent like Vitamin C to it .

Simmer Down the tea in a large Flat Pan on low heat with a Fan Blowing over it. Reduce it as much as possible.
The heat wont kill much if any of your dissolved Actives if done right.

Then add your desired Honey and mix well .
Depending on the dose , you can make this Honey VERY strong.

If desired one could add some Tetrahydroharmine in the last step which would make the Honey even stronger .
Make sure you keep your Spoonful in the Mouth for some time Pleased
SWIM has not tried this yet because THH is still unavailable for SWIM in Europe as it seems.




Simple Mushroom extract Capsules:

1.Take fresh or dried Mushrooms and soak them in warm vodka for a week or so .
Strain and repeat if you like to.
2.Powderize another Pile of Mushrooms as finely as possible - like dust.
Put it in a large flat Pyrex Dish - put a heating mat underneath and evaporate quickly.
An anti oxidative Agent might be very useful in this step.

Let it dry out completely . Put it in large Capsules and store within an Airtight Container of some Nutritional Supplement type . Also dont forget a small silica gel bag.


Its possible to deliver a full blown dose with very few Capsules/Spoonfuls , its all about the amount and type/s of Psilocybes used in the recipe Try with some Azurescens if you can Pleased




EDIT:
The most potent Product I can think of is Combining these 2 Recipes :
Prepare a potent stealth Honey out of a mix of various Strains and Species (if you have access) -
Prepare something like a finely powdered 3x Extract of Azures- In the last moments take your still warm and liquid Honey and Mix in all your dried Shroom Extract .
Its going to be a really dark Paste (store it in the freezer) . "Are you experienced ?" Laughing


Maybe its possible to form small solid balls from this Paste by adding a bit of Gum Arabic

I put mine into a tea bag, add boiling water and maybe half a tsp of apple cider vinegar...or even ascorbic acid..seems to hit harder and faster this way..

chocolates work well, but I just cant bring myself to eat the mushrooms anymore..my stomach hates it when I dont make the tea.

SWIM's been experimenting wit just using honey by pulverizing the dried mushrooms, putting the powder in a container of known volume, mixing in some honey, and leaving in the freezer. SWIM's been surprised by the potency of even half a gram's worth--half a teaspoon in this case. SWIM will try the stealthy honey sometime, but he was wondering if anyone knew any methods for solidifying honey so that it will stay solid at room temperature?

SWIM successfully made stealth honey using excessive amounts of water, a little lemon juice and ascorbic acid, and three washes on steamed and pulverized, previously dried and stored mushrooms. He used the hot water that he had steamed the mushrooms with and a little extra along with the acids to brew for a few hours, then he put it into his food dehydrator and continued to brew separately in successively smaller amounts of water that were added to the amount in the dehydrator over the course of a few days. SWIM got a little anxious and only got to a volume that would fill 3/4 of his honey bottle, so it's a bit runny, but SWIM's happy with the potency and seems to be able to get slightly in excess of a gram's worth out of two teaspoons. Plus, the runniness makes it easier to keep track of. Very good medicine. SWIM'd recommend this to anyone.

ive tried making tea a couple times, and it seemed to loose potency. how many people is several? an ounce, now thats a pot of tea!

great recipes here. i bought some dark chocolate truffles at a festival in quebec that were divine. is there supposed to be a synergy with the cacao that the Mayans were aware of?

a friend told me if you pour honey over whole mushrooms in a glass jar, over time purple/blue veins will grow in the honey. i would love to see this!

my new favorite way to eat psilocibe is with fresh blueberries
