Guys I think the vitriol against Hysterix was unjustified.

His language was certainly loose, I took a dislike to the way he seemed to brag about 'dosing' people with D. He also reacted very strongly over the video issue.

But you need to remember that he thought he was being accused of making the whole thing up.

Imagine the scenario: he actually extracted that amount of D, he genuinely wanted to introduce an experience that had changed his life to his friends, and he wanted to present his findings for our enjoyment/discussion. Then, having invested so much effort and money into this enterprise, he comes to the place he thought he would be welcomed and he's faced with (perceived) allegations of deceit.

The question I want to know is: why would he make it all up?

A concerned mother taking guerilla action?

Joe Rogan getting his revenge?

Master of Plants?

Bizarre attention seeking?

Either way, I reckon he should be educated and helped by us, not attacked. Surely we are an open minded community here? Of course we don't want this wonderful substance advertised widely and introduced to everyone, but we should make this point within a framework of rational dialogue, not hatred.

Why should any of us resort to name calling? Even if it's thrown at us? Surely we're more mature than that? Isn't that the point?

I really really like this community, the level of intellectual debate here is excellent, the chemical knowledge is unparalleled, the warmth is brilliant, the love is everywhere, but we shouldn't be elitist.

He clearly misread our policy here of being under the radar and obviously didn't realise our attitude to publicity and You Tube, but he could surely have played some part in our community?

While I agree that we should be helping people whenever we can, his actions were more than just simple negativity. He was downright abusive, and that really should not be tolerated by anyone. There were holes in his story, but that's not what concerns me...it was his blatent attacks on that thread and others that had nothing to do with his jar of whatever. His attitude was f you all around.

He has been banned by the Traveler and came back on today under another screen name. I banned him the second time. There is a limit to what can be tolerated.

Good point, Malargue, but I think his response to the situation was incredibly revealing. It's probably the disclaimer thread that really set his tone for us, anyway.

I'm not sure exactly what I think about hysterix and the blow-up that occurred. I have to accept responsibility for being at the heart of it, but I did and still do question the content of that video--and I'm not the only one to have doubts about it.

It may be true, however, that I was responding more to the tone and presence of the video. I think there's very little argument that the video was inappropriate--and whatever happens, hysterix MUST understand that kind of video does far more harm than good regarding responsible use of spice.

If I was too aggressive I apologize. But that doesn't relieve hysterix of his responsibility for the barrage of nastiness he responded with. Any good outcome will have to involve hysterix understanding that:

1) Nobody on this forum wants wanton displays of spice use recklessly exposed to the general public.

2) Negativity and rage are not what people want on the nexus--even when a member might occasionally feel insulted or annoyed by another's post (like mine questioning the videos). I'm sorry for inciting hysterix. But I can't take ANY blame for his very destructive reaction.

3) We all have to try to have a positive and constructive input for the nexus to work at its best.

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of that thread, I hadn't read it. Too much time working and not enough time for the Nexus! Having read that I see why it all kicked off.

He seemed like he had a lot of bitterness in him, not something I'd associate with a self-professed spice spreader.

as for the carrying rants over onto other forums, etc. just stop it. if you have a fire burning here, don't take a little piece of it to other forums and start more fires.....deal with your stuff here...IN the forums....trying to get out of yourself and communicating (directly via PM with individuals involved if need be) as ego-lessly as possible to put out the fire as soon as you become aware of it. that thread from the other forum would be a good example of when to think to yourself that you've probably failed to think things through from all sides...

Coatl' I don't think he was being condescending or rude on purpose. I really think he was trying his best to speak to you with respect. You have said that, "sweetie" offends you, that's fine, if he does it again then it will be rude.

I'm glad you have been learning over the years. It's a growing experience for us all. I'm 32 and I find myself in a very different place than I was just a few years ago.

Maybe you should go back & re-read some of these threads that have got you in trouble (& apparently not just around here...), and really think about the responses you've been given, without relating them to yourself for a minute, to try & look at it subjectively.
Because the same ones seem to come up over & over again.
Seriously think about what people are saying to you.
If different people, in different places & different situations continue to have the same negative reactions to you & the things you do & say, it might not be everyone else who has the problem...
