So I've been smoking a lot more leaf, trying to see all range of effects, and I realized something. If you don't have a good bubbler or bong, the plain leaf is harsh smoke. It burns fast, so it's hard to get the proper heat levels.

Today I had a small hit of herb in my pipe left, a little resiny, so I loaded a full bowl of well broken up leaf in. When I hit the salvia, I was able to burn it much longer while still pulling hard. It didn't burn my lungs up near as quick and I was able to burn about .4 of a gram in two hits.

Lavos is a fictional character, a dream inside a dream. Don't take what he says to be true or representational of reality in any known form. He is inspired by pure fantasy.

I've always had my nice glass bong Smile I did try to smoke some plain leaf from a little pipe I have once, and you're right, it was really harsh. Sometimes, when I plan on smoking a couple bowls of leaf, I put some ice in my bong and that also helps cool the smoke a lot.

I'm a noob with Salvia. Is it better to burn it completely or vape it in something like a GVG? Thanks to those more experienced that I.
Let us declare nature to be legitimate. All plants should be declared legal, and all animals for that matter. The notion of illegal plants and animals is obnoxious and ridiculous.

With Salvia, the hotter the better, that's why many people use torch lighters.
it's about making life a neverending experience of wonderfulness!

I’ve used both a torch lighter and a regular “Bic”-type lighter, and find no difference. Plain salvia leaves burn very hot and really don’t need a torch lighter.

Extracts, when properly made, burn just as hot. However, many commercial extracts contain waxes, tars, and other sticky plant lipids which lower the temperature at which the extract burns. These low quality extracts may benefit from a torch lighter.

(If you want a good quality extract, make it yourself!)

And an extra tip in light of recent events: Avoid smoking salvia on 15-floor balconies or other locations where you could fall to your death.

And to not have your ex-girlfriend, who obviously knows nothing about the plant, as a sitter.

Thanks gibran2. To extract it myself is ethanol OK to use or is there a better cleaner solvent to extract with? I'm guessing that once you have your liquid Salvia extract you would then reduce it and add it to dry leaves and evaporate to make the extract stick onto those leaves to boost their potency, kind of like a changa tek?
